Billy Newsome... A true hero
Hurricane News...
Props to Billy Newsome for loading up a box a truck and getting donations.
Billy is down there now with skids of water handing out to the people. He just did this on his own, didnt have to but he did! You the man Bill!

That's the kind of action that makes this country great, and makes me proud to be a citizen of the US.
Wow indeed - there isn't a word to describe how I felt when I read Hurricane's Post...Bless Billy for such a selfless act and may he have a safe trip home...he is an inspiration and has done something that many of us only wish we could. I don't know if anyone will talk to him, or if he'll read this upon returning, "THANK YOU BILLY"!
Peace,

It really makes me wish I could be there with him. I think that philanthropy is one of the few things that makes capitalism really work for the good of the people.
Billy's Karma is going to be off the charts when he gets home, and he deserves every bit of it.
Here we are bitchin' about the price of gas.

... and then the wheel fell off.
Kudos to Bill for stepping forward and taking action.
I'm hearing buzz about a number of different things coming together to help out in the relief in Louisiana and Mississippi. Thanks to Billy, as well as everybody who is taking the lead on putting together activities and events to help out with the relief effort.

"Philanthrophy", REALLY? Well I say what America needs is more "Capitalists" like Billy!

If a TRULY wealthy person has compassion, what wouldn't they do or give to save a life, or ease suffering, if they could? Makes one think. I gather Billy already has good Karma, that's one of the reasons he did it in the first place. May he be rewarded, Karmically or otherwise, 100 times over!
Good Morning Rockpage,
First of all,we are not worthy of your accolades as our mission was'nt accomplished the way it was intended. After seeing the pain and suffering I'm sure you all saw,we spent the next 36 hours planning, begging, borrowing, and coniving. We were able to procure 4(instead of 10)skids of 72 cases each,or 17,280 bottles of water and 6 boxes of 4 each first aid kits,Donations from the good people of central Pa. and western N.Y. After spending more hours on the phone talking to various state and federal agencies to find a suitable staging area as close to the needed areas as possible,we were basically told our"drop in the bucket" as they put it would'nt get within 500 miles of the affected areas. The only thing we had to donate was our time to truck said supplies to the closest area we could. We were told to take our load to Cleveland to go on a frieght truck(no charge)for shipment on Saturday. After much deliberation thats exactly what we did. While our hearts were in the right place, the usual government red tape pretty much stopped us in our tracks.A huge thank you to all who contributed in our small crusade, locally we as musicians and humans for that matter need to get the ball rolling to to raise more funds because the suffering these people are going through has only just begun. We were most affected by seeing the children stranded only because their parents either were too poor or too stupid to leave when directed to.Slow response to such a huge undertaking was normal when the scope of the disaster was finally realized.Again hug your children and love your neighbors because if a real crisis ever hits home they could be all you have to insure your survival.Peace,Billy

No words can even be said to describe what a great thing you have done!!!! Even though you didn't get it straight to them they still got it and that's what counts. Just think you probably saved a life since so many are dying without food and water. You are a hero and your baby will be proud to have a father like you
