dear Lord,
please return metal to the forefront of this area. we need metal shows EVERY WEEK in Altoona. i would be willing to help organize and promote and even PLAY at these shows. i know there are metal bands here, God, just please help the metal revolution start here. we would need a club willing to have a metal night and a band every week. i beg of you God, to help me in the endeavor for all that is metal. i know it can be done...i know the fire exists in their hearts. we could even have a metal cover night for one of those shows a month. metal is such a release for the soul and mind. Thank you God, for your time. the people of Altoona deserve this...please help.

i would LOVE to see a Hair Force one show! but i was talking about more heavier metal. there is a show that comes around every once in a while , but we need something permanent in Altoona WEEKLY and CONSTANT.
maybe the fact that it was a prayer bothered you?

there is a place in frederick,md that has metal/harcore/whatever bands every friday night. the place is called "the braddock inn" . they have a huge turnout usually every friday with lots of regulars. i have been there only once since they started having shows again. i think we need something like that here, would anyone even care or help make this happen?????

That wasn't really why I responded like I did. I think that metal does ok for itself around here. Only catch seems to be that you have to do covers of metal songs to get recognized. There are a lot of talented metal players around this area. Only problem unfortunately is the fact that this is a covers dominated market in Altoona. My suggestion would not just be to "pray" for something to happen, but to make it happen in reality. Do covers to get a fanbase and then start filtering in originals. You're bound to get a following for the stuff eventually.

the covers we will do (only 2 at most per show) will be metal covers, not top 40. it isnt our intention to slip originals in....hahahaha not at all. we ARE an original band. i cannot and WILL NOT try to trap people into hearing our music. but i wasnt even talking about Chaos Rising playing this "weekly metal show". id like to go see other metal bands, not just play in one. like a place for metal fans to hang out and listen to music together. this isnt a bad idea....i dont know why no one supports it. there would be lots of people that would go i think.

where were you aug 19th? the lion's den featured three area metal bands that tore shit down....Suicide Switch, Inversion & At Hope's End. Tommorrow nite at aldo's is suicide switch, choking faith & dragonfire....what do you want????

ill be there on saturday for choking faith. but what im talking about is a weekly show at the SAME bar every week that is like metal night. a calling to metal fans to hang out together every week and hear music. it would help alot of bands who need or want shows and everyone would know where to go for metal night. i think this would do great things. a few metal shows here and there is cool, but i think something every week at the same place would so much better. once a month doesnt do it. banking on every friday or saturday as metal night at a bar or whatever would rule. it would give newer bands a chance right off the bat.
