It's a great idea, and would be a positive image thing for Rockpage. Let's do it!!

I'll look into the process of setting up an adoption, and bring it up at the next PA Cleanways meeting later this month. Any ideas on what roads or areas Rockpage would like to adopt?

As I mentioned on the other thread, to officially "adopt" an area requires getting out two times a year to clean it up; usually this requires 3 or 4 hours total per clean-up session, even less time if we get more people involved to help out.

By the way, after the adoption is established and takes place, we get one of those yellow highway signs along the clean-up area indicating that "Rockpage.net" did the clean-up. Very good PR!

If it was for a couple hours, to help out a bunch of rockpagers, who are helping out the roadways, then I'm all for it. Think of it "area musicians adopt local highway to keep it clean".

Something GOOD for musicians in the news, that would be great!

JP, if there's anything we can do to help, as long as schedules permit ... you know the deal.

That's a good cause. Litter bothers me.

I'm on the 'let chain gangs of prisoners do it' bus like they do down south. Man, their highways are spotless, and it lets prisoners on 'good behavior' out for a little while.

This could turn into something really great by the sounds of things!

Hey Eric , I too have spent quite a good bit of time in this country's fine southern states and I agree they do have some of the cleanest highways I have ever seen! The D.O.C does have the inmates clean'n all the time and they do a real fine job too! I think it's S.C. not sure though ,who has a $1000.oo litter'n fine !! Holy crap that would suck if one was to be slapped with that kinda fine for a ciggy butt out of the car window!!

It's DEFINITELY a great idea!
How about a section in not only Blair, but Cambria, Centre,
Huntingdon and Clearfield Counties, as well? If that's possible, that is. I'm a bit familiar with PA CleanWays and I think they're just in Blair...but it doesn't hurt to ask. Get Closer to the Music could possibly even sponsor a connecting section of the same road...not only would some more good be getting done, it would be GREAT exposure for them and for RockPage! Just some thoughts...
