In three weeks, I will be again attending the annual Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, as a representative of Pennsylvania Musician. The annual conference runs June 23-26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Harrisburg.
As many of you probably know, I've been at most of the conferences so far (I believe 7 of 9, if my count is correct). I've attended most of the seminars and panels, and have a pretty good understanding of the various aspects of the music industry that are discussed each year. What I want to know is - What do YOU want to know? What aspects of the music industry are you interested in? What music industry issues do you have questions or concerns about? Do you have any questions about aspects of the music industry, from marketing to record labels, indie labels, or anything else? Feel free to post your answers (i.e. questions) below; I will then try to address your interests and concerns as I sit in on the various panels and seminars taking place at the conference, and report my findings when I do my recap of the event.
For more information about the Millennium Music Conference, including the various panels and seminars being held at this year's event, you can visit the website www.musicconference.net.

In opening a new recording studio/band practice area, what type of contracts are standard in the industry to protect the artist and studio from malicious lawsuits and theft of an artist's work? For example, how does the backyard rocker handle similar situations.

Bump...
The Millennium Music Conference begins this Thursday. Again, if you have any questions about a certain aspect of the music business you'd like me to try and find out answers to, post them below.
Also - any bands who want to send along any free stuff - stickers, demos, etc. - I'll have some table space at the Pennsylvania Musician area at the conference trade show where I can display your stuff for passers-by to pick up and check out. Hook me up by Wednesday and I'll take it along.
