Bobby's a great guitarist... everything he plays is so tasteful. I was in a band called Strychnyne with him when he was 15 or 16, and he was smokin' even then. If you see him, tell him Johnny Stevens says hi.--->JMS

Strychnine havent heard that name for awhile.You guys prolly remember Brad Zinn then he is in a band called Pitch Black.

I also heard Bob Kise is back at it and he is Jamming W/Former Scream drummer Mike Dooley.

Thnx everyone for checking us out we really preciate it.

Yeah, I was singing, Brad played bass, Bobby on guitar, and Kenny Haubert on drums. I thought we were awesome, and dated a very nice girl from there, Susan Reiss, so I was around a lot anyway, but they canned me for a singer who looked cooler. That's what it's like being in a band with ninth graders. They told me years later how much they regretted it, but I never take that stuff personally anyway, so we always got along.
I remember Friction... they were what I consider to be the first alternative band in Central PA, very gutsy in an area where metal and Top 40 cover bands ruled supreme.----->JMS

Wow, John Stevens! I didn't realize that it was you as Songsmith. I'm Andy from Huntingdon. I used to follow Bashful around back in the day. I just saw you sing a song with Scream at Peter C's a while back. You'd know me if you saw me. Big guy, glasses, reddish blonde hair,(used to be long :( )

Oops, forgot to mention Bashful is doing a reunion (1 time only) show in Shade gap next month(?). Think its Jeff, Zinn, Passerelli, Port and either Kise or Rusty D. Ahhhh, memories!

Yep, sure I remember you! BTW, there was talk of a Thin Ice reunion for that show as well, but my current band got booked elsewhere, and it's bass season then, so I'm busy. I don't hunt, or ride, or barhop, or do a lot of time-consuming cool stuff, other than play music, kayak and impale crawfish on metal hooks.
I didn't see you at Peter C's or I would have said hi... I hadn't seen you since the William Penn days, and you had big ol' shaggy hair then. (Me, too!)
Doug Forshey, formerly of Thin Ice and pretty much every other rock band I was in, is coming up from Nashville for a set at the Shade Gap show, don't miss it, his songwriting is top-shelf, he writes with some of the best there are. His new record, due out this summer is NOT country, and NOT like anything you've heard from Nashville. The pre-prods I heard are Beatlesque, but still very Doug Forshey... soulsearching lyrics, layered production and melodies that stick in your head for days. If I wasn't busy, I'd come down and sit in. I still might, if he goes on early enough.
See ya, bud.---->JMS

I saw Doug the last time he was back in town. He played an acoustic set at the Village Tavern I believe.
Maybe I'll run into ya sometime!
