the return of music alley

ok the details are this. we have no details, just kidding! the plans are made for the event itself, the bands that want to be involved will need to play for at least 2 hrs, music starts at 5pm friday and ends after the 4 bands have played, usually around 3am or so, this allows for tear down and set up and sound check. saturday the music starts at noon and goes til around the same time. and we are trying for 8 bands on saturday. so 12 bands total, every band is paid exactly the same amount. you may have to bring your own sound, because the one we talked to said he did not want to be up for two days straight, or we can try to get two different ones, which is going to cut in to the overhead and the bands will be paid less. we can weigh this option out with everybody. so we are striving for a september date and it will be held every year around the same time. blah, blah,blah. this is just another idea that my sister and I talked about to keep the music alive. the average pay for an old music fest was $400 per band, we are trying to get all of the expenses averaged out and divided and looking at about $800 per band right now. the deal is, every band involved will HAVE to help sell advance tickets and I will post exactly what the rent for the weekend is for the place, total cost for sound, and all other costs for the event, like advertising and such. the only thing it will cost you to be here is your gas money, food & drink that you bring and maybe an occasional beer for me! and we are also trying to contact some venders to defray the cost of the rent, you guys can sell all the cd's and t-shirts that you want, especially while you are playing. we are working with our local harley davidson store to sell tickets to win a harley, and things like that. please let me know if anyone is interested and we can go from there with the rest of the plans.

ok everyone, first thing we have to do is come up with a new name for this event. we CANNOT use "music alley", "music fest", or "rock fest" the meeting to set the date is tonite at 8pm, looks like about $21,000.00 in expenses so far ( I will break this down when I have complete info) and we still have to purchase the harley for the giveaway. we are 90% sure it is going to be a 2005 harley 883 sportster, any other suggestions on the bike? this is the first year for the event so we wanted to keep the ticket price as low as possible and keep the whole event as simple as possible, we are always willing to listen to suggestions and would love to have help every year for this. we are going to form a committee for this event and the committee members WILL BE PAID from the profits, you will be assigned certain duties to take some of the burden off our shoulders. two people cannot plan and execute an event this big and we are going to need help. we need 10 people that will meet at our place or close to it once a month beginning asap, if we are going to pull this off this year I need help. email me and I will give you my home phone # or I will call you, make sure you specify the best time to call you back.
