computer geeks!!!!
my system crashes constantly.
it says something like couldn't wright memory 453281905479. i also get about two or three log off errors a day. every so often a memory dump.
it is a nightmare installing drivers. it might crash 10 or so times till i get the driver installed.
things i have done.
format.
changed hard drives.
changed some permissions.
and a few i cant think of right now.
my ram memory usage averages about 330 of 512. if i remember corectly it used to average about 230.
could my ram be bad?
xp home.

Its probably bad RAM. If you have two 256MB dimms, take one out and see if it still does it. If it doesn't, swap it for the other one and try it again.
Another thing you can do is enter the BIOS setup and set the boot up for full system check and turn on the system log. BIOS may even contain system diagnostics. Depending on the motherboard, it might catch the error.
If you have system or motherboard CDs with it, you could also check to see if there is a diagnostics program there. They are usually DOS programs that will test all your hardware.
