The Big Lie
Don't believe the hype about the number of people that support Bush, that's just another lie his supporters are trying to push. They want you to forget that the vote in November was nearly a 50/50 split. They act as if it were 90/10, and in our office, unfortunately, that's probably not far off.
The self-proclaimed war president loves peace and supports the troops, ha. It wasn't as if a peaceful path was his first choice. It's very clear that we were going to war from the beginning, no "ifs", "ands" or "buts". The Bush administration distorted facts and sold American any lie necessary to make it happen. With the daily revelations of how much prior warning of the 9/11 tragedy there was, it's a wonder it happened at all. It's called an intelligence failure. But then maybe the information was put to best use. Without a 9/11 type event, I doubt the American public would ever have swallowed the other lies & distortions and supported this phony war. Looking globally, practically no one else fell for it. The magic coalition was/is a joke.
Bush doesn't give a rat's ass about the troops. You need to separate what he says from what he does. He just uses them up and tosses them aside like so much trash. Ever been to a VA hospital? These guys come back shredded and should get the best of care but they're forgotten, they're benefits are cut, etc.
If we're such humanitarians and really want to spread freedom and democracy then why don't we go to Tibet? I have a funny idea that there's not much oil or other resources that this administration finds of value. Value, now there's a banner they love to wave but again it's say one thing, do the opposite.
The self-proclaimed education president is another laugh. Schools are cutting teachers, programs, arts, athletics, increasing class sizes across the nation. So let's introduce a program aimed to improve education by financially penalizing schools that don't make enough improvements, as if that somehow will help solve the problem. Blindly throwing money at a problem doesn't fix it either but cutting financial aid definitely won't make things better.
Environmentally, this administration has turned back the clock.
You can see from the cabinet changes, that Bush isn't interested in differing opinions, just yes-men.
Social insecurity? He's having problem convincing a lot of his own people to swallow his new scheme.
Wanna bet brother-Jeb runs next time around?
With spending out of control and not enough investment, we're heading for a big fall like the Soviet Union. Reagan didn't end the cold war, he simply managed to outspend them without going broke first. With the threat of communism worn thin, they needed a new perpetual threat and found it in terrorism.

I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood

1. It's February 2005. Election was in November. It's okay not to like Bush, but it's long over. As much as I respect ImGrimm's views and the right to express them, as stated above: It's OVER.
2. ROCKpage. Not Political Viewpage. Music please.
Any thoughts on the new Collective Soul, Motley Crue, or Shadows Fall albums?

Dood...
There he goes again! Mr. Grimm, you wouldn't be so pissed at the world, America, and the government if you didn't look at them with the sole purpose of finding every little thing that is wrong with them. You might be a happier person if you tried to find something good about the world.
Unless you are making an honest effort to fix things, then you don't have much right to complain. Things could always be worse.
About the music there ToonaRockGuy, I've only heard Collevtive Souls new single, and I like it. I would love to hear more of that album.

Whether you think that:
abortion is murder or not.
God and Government mix or don't mix.
Big Business is the heart of American capitalism or the death of it.
allies are important or not.
Welfare and Social Security run with or counter to American ideals.
the benifits of legalized cannibis are greater than the risks or vice versa.
tomatoes are fruits or vegetables.
That's an opinion. You're not going to change someone's principles.
So save your breath and live and let live.
(but hey, there's nothing wrong with a politically charged song or two)

Seriously, though...I agree with ToonaRockGuy. The election was a done deal in November, and to borrow an expression from my favorite sports commentator, Jim Rome, George W. got "SCOREBOARD." He is not many people's ideal choice for the Oval Office, but he won the election, and he is our President, as determined by our electoral process. Pining on a music forum isn't going to change that reality. Let's deal with it, and see what things are like in 2008.
Now, PLEASE, back to our regularly scheduled music forum...
What kind of beans do you like? I like...Bush's!As a great philosopher, newspaper reporter, and Superman fan once said, "I like beans."

ok I will follow up, then I will shut up ! Bush did win , no place in my post did I dispute that but I am not happy about that and i think what were seeing is that now that he got in he is going to further his agenda of war and killing, seems the majority of you are content to accept that or pretend it isn't the case... either way that's not my style if I have something on my mind I say it , always have always will. As far as a music forum well lets be honest ain't been much here by way of music lately, no one seems to have anything to say. Later my brothers . PEACE !

The election may be over, but it's consequences remain.
Music and politics have always been strange bedfellows, and if you want our world to improve, then the current (sorry) state of our gov't has to be addressed. Sticking our heads in the sand just because it isn't election time is one of the worst things we can do.
Kudos to Bobby for continuing to raise questions and for bringing new political agendas to light. Ingorance may be bliss, but that doesn't make it right.

the big lie
hey, run for president then, we can always sell beans to raise money for your campaign, evidently every body here would buy them! and in reality we know what you are saying is true and alot of us agree with you, but if you only bitch about it and do nothing to try to change it, you are wasting your time. if you are actually trying to do something about it, cudo's let people know what your plans are and maybe we can work on it. if one person fights its called jerkin off, if two people fight its called a duel, if three people fight its called really nice tit's, and when you get more its called a following, then its an army, then an armada, if you want an armada ask us, don't alienate.
only the best sex toys sold here!
Wow, isn't it truly amazing how before the election I would get slammed by all the tree huggin, pro-abortion liberals on here if I said anything in support of Bush.
But now, when Bobby Lee cries over the results of the election that he can't change - it is a good thing.
And for those of you that want to discount abortion as a political stance - think of it this way. According to the Center for Disease Control, in the year 2000 alone there were 857,000 Americans murdered in abortion clinics. This "war" has taken less than 2000 American soldiers.
Sorry - I don't get you people!!!
And Bobby, it is great to see that you have support if you decide to run for office. But, like myself, there are many of us that would fight you all the way.

I like beans too....
Oh, btw. I read an interesting article. The number of abortions in the past 20 years would have been enough to swing the election Kerry's way if all those people were alive. The article assumed that of the 18+ million that at least 2/3 would have been to a Democratic family. Families tend to spread their values to their young.
End result is that the article, written on a purely non-party platform is that the Dems may be killing themselves off at a rate that they will become an extreme minority.

It's good to see that there are so many fans of beans. I like green beans myself. There's this great fish I get at the local grocery store, and beans is the perfect compliment for it. Of course, I also dig some good stir fry too. I love to stir fry together boneless chickenbreast, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I either stick it on rice or make fijitas with it. You can never go wrong with stir fry.

My favorite bean is the "shut up about politics on rockpage" bean...See, I used to be an offender of this political jibberish. But I had this bean, and I refuse to argue about stupid crap anymore on here. Everyone should try the "It's all about the music" bean!! I've tryed it and I have never felt better because of it!!!

Seems to me you still read it - and respond to it!!RobTheDrummer wrote:My favorite bean is the "shut up about politics on rockpage" bean...See, I used to be an offender of this political jibberish. Oh, and, I only like jelly beans. None of that shit that is "good for you" for me. Nope, I don't eat fruits or veggies - I believe that I was born to be a carnivore and that is what I am. (well, besides huge amounts of butter on everything I eat - or everyone I eat).

i saw you try apple sauce once. i think that's the only thing i ever saw you try that *didn't* have 5 layers of butter on it.
Besides, you eat veggi's! It just so happens that they are via the nutrients in the cows you eat cooked so rare. ::grins:: heh.
And you've never used butter on me....or is that saved special for dan?
