With Get Closer to the Music's recent formation and the recent discussions dealing with all-ages shows and getting young people involved with music, I thought I'd post this link for you to check out:

I wrote about this organization a few years ago in Pennsylvania Musician. Ralph Moffat and the Western Pennsylvania Musicians Group have a pretty good thing going here. I actually toured their facility in Homestead a few years ago; it has practice rooms for bands to rent and use, a place to stage shows, and a small recording studio - all made possible by donations of instruments and gear by musicians in the Pittsburgh area.

W.P.M.G. is an example of something positive that can be achieved for aspiring young musicians with some work, organization and diligence.

This is what we are aiming for as well. Someplace that our youth can take their music and ideas and put them to work and not be judged for it. Someplace they can go to have fun with their friends and fellow musicians. Someplace they can go to possibly make dreams come true. Someplace they can go to be off the streets and out of trouble. We are hoping that our communities will come together like the communities out in Pittsburgh and make this place a reality. We will graciously accept donations of any kind. Help us make this happen!!!!
