HOMEGROWN ROCKER 12/27/20 (2020 YEAR IN REVIEW)

Post by Jim Price »

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 27 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

We slammed the door on this chaotic year 2020 as only we can do it on this program, with the "Homegrown Rocker" Year in Review Special! Starting with January, we proceeded through the past year on the area music scene, recalling the band formations, breakups and personnel moves, noteworthy shows, and music that was created in 2020! And yes, we did acknowledge COVID-19 and its impact - not just the numerous concerts and festival events that the pandemic derailed and venues that didn't survive, but also the resiliency of bands and performers as they turned their attentions toward live-streaming events and creating new music! And we heard much music that was created in 2020, including several songs inspired by the pandemic and other news headlines that happened during this crazy year!

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE MARK ALLEN PROJECT - "Happy New Year (Toss Me a Beer)"
MEDUSA'S DISCO - "Painters Painting Paintings"
RIK GOLDEN - "Something Else in Mind"

A number of new local and regional recordings arrived in the program's mailboxes during the holiday season, so we will catch up on those new arrivals on our first program of 2021! We'll debut lots of new music, and hear new tunes from such names as Black Cat Moan, Afro N'At, Jack Pyers, Memory Collector, The Redlines and more! We'll also update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an out-of-state band or artist, and review Tim Woods' Vortex album in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
