Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the January 19 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.
We met up with our first band guests of the New Year, Dan Klock and Gary McCloskey of area jam music adventurers Mysterytrain! With the recent edition of new bass player Eric Milinchuk and return of several missing members from medical and other situations, Mysterytrain is now back at full strength and working on new song material in advance of this year's upcoming outdoor festival season. During a conversation recorded at Penn State Altoona's Slep Student Center, Dan and Gary discussed the new music and the group's current direction, and we aired several of those new songs! We also debuted new songs from Callie Tomblin, Steve Treado and Medusa's Disco, and dug into the archive to pull out a 2002 number from Grinning Mob for this week's "Local Music Flashback!"
Here is this week's playlist:

We'll speak with another musical guest on our next program, as we meet up with area musician and recording engineer Rik Golden! Rik recently issued his second solo album, Hold On, stays busy on stage with area punk rockers The Snipped and his own self-named band, and has been working on new CD's by Darkness On The Radio, Dilemma and more! Rik will share details about his current musical world, and we'll hear tracks from his new album! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and review Medusa's Disco's Orphic Grimoire CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
