Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the August 7 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.
This week, we resurrected a special we hadn't done in a while, the "Fast Forward Special!" For this special edition, we spotlighted various area musicians and bands in double-shots, starting with an early song from that spotlighted band or performer, and finishing with a more recent song by that same band or performer! It's always interesting to compare some bands' past and present sounds, as well as hear what individual musicians were doing years ago compared to now!

On our next program, we welcome band guests Small Town Horror Show! Composed of past members of Dragon Fire and Choking Faith, Small Town Horror Show is in the process of bringing their live show to area stages, and is set to release their debut CD. We'll get the lowdown on this new band and play cuts from the CD, and also discuss an event the group is involved with, the inaugural ZombieTown USA weekend in Altoona on August 26-27!
