Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 20 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week's program was our annual Christmas Special, with the spotlight on area bands and musicians performing Christmas music, from original Christmas song compositions to renditions of time-tested holiday favorites! And we welcomed guest Greg Mudzinski, who introduced us to the new Christmas compilation CD Happy Valley Holidays. The disc features 16 songs by a number of Centre region bands and artists, and proceeds from the CD's sales go to Direct Relief, an organization that helps victims of global disasters and strife. We introduced many new local and regional holiday songs on this year's special, including new numbers from August Room, Monster Track Supergroup, Overhead, The Dirty Thieving Gypsies, Jason McIntyre, The Whatleys, Corners Of Sanctuary, Pure Cane Sugar, Lady, Rachel Moon, The Strayers, Jack Servello and Jimmy Mowery. We also stepped "Across State Lines" to hear holiday music from Dayton, Ohio instrumentalist Eric Loy.
