Dale Nitti Passes.

Post by RamRod 1 »

I knew Dale's family. His Dad "John Nitti" was a country singer with a local band doing '50's and 60's stuff like George Jones and such. John had a true country voice and was a great enterainer.

In the earily "90's" I wanted to do a weekend jamming band doing "60's covers in local bars and dives. Nothing real serious. I just wanted to get out and play and make a few bucks. I'd do guitar and sing and have a bass player and drummer. I told the band, I'll book the jobs, if something else comes along that you want to do and you want to get out, just give me 2 weeks notice and no hard feeling.

So the drummer is leaving. Harry Young is playing bass guitar and now we need a drummer. We audition Dale. Although he played drums in the high school band, he was really green. Things are pretty "iffy". Harry and I work with him on things like snare drum and bass drum placement. You know, how to do a "Rock beat". Within 2 weeks he can nail everything!

With only a 3 piece, we need vocals. We work with Dale . He can sing.

He goes onto other projects. I Hardly Knew Her, Hi-Tyde, etc.

Dale wanted to be a frontman. I said, "I think you should go for it!." He got there.

I'm old enough to be his Dad! He's not my son but if he were, I'd be proud!

RIP Dale. So sad>

Yes, I also heard about this a few days ago, and it is extremely sad. I remember jammin' with Dale at the Anchor Inn for a gig years ago. He will definitely be missed.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
