Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the November 8 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.
We checked out a few more new recording arrivals in the show's mailboxes, debuting new songs from Jack Pyers, Easy Tiger, Sterling Koch, JR Wolf, VSG and The Cliff Legend. We also updated "Local Music News," dug out a 1998 tune from State College's Dogtown Road for this week's "Local Music Flashback," and stepped "Across State Lines" to hear music from New Jersey/New York-based blues/funk guitarist Chaz DePaolo. (Due to technical issues, there was no "Professor's CD Corner" this week; that feature should return next week.)

A slight change in our schedule will move next week's originally-scheduled guests, Jim Donovan's Sun King Warriors, back a week until November 22. Instead, next week we will speak with Kent Tonkin, the chief organizer of the annual Patched Together Benefit. This year's Patched Together happens on Saturday, November 21 at Altoona's Bavarian Hall. Kent will give us the lowdown on this year's benefit, and we will hear music from some of the 12 different performing bands and artists at this year's concert. And barring any further technical issues, we will review the Legendary Hucklebucks' Hillbilly Death-Wrock Volume One CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
Upcoming guests and specials include:
NOVEMBER 15 - Kent Tonkin (Patched Together Benefit preview)
NOVEMBER 22 - Jim Donovan's Sun King Warriors
NOVEMBER 29 - Local Music Live in Concert Special
DECEMBER 6 - Sterling Koch
DECEMBER 20 - Christmas Special
(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)
