Fates Warning show at McGarveys
Fates Warning show at McGarveys
Went to the Fates Warning show at Mcgarveys on Tues night. If you didnt go, you missed one heck of a show. Giornesto started off the evening with some old school metal, Lies Inc came in with a belting set. Then Naildriver came on and melted your face with hybrid of thrash with new metal vocals. Fates Warning brought a band called Imminent Sonic Destruction, good progressive hard rock/metal. Fates Warning didn't enter the venue til it was time to go on stage, but you could tell they were hyped to play. In the midst of all of this was That Metal Show's Don Jamieson. What a great guy!! Would talk to anyone and everyone, posed for pics, signed stuff. His stand up act was hilarious. I got to finally meet a lot of my fellow Altoona musicians. All of them were great to talk to as well, very welcoming and supportive. Some of them even offered to have my band open for them so we could get our foot in the door of the Altoona music scene (my band is based out of Indiana, Pa eventhough I live in Hollidaysburg). Even saw some high school friends there. We have a lot of great talent in this town, so if you can, go out and see them. Thanks to McGarveys and any local venues that allow us to play, you are keeping the music scene alive in the area.
