Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the August 2 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

We also updated "Local Music News," dug a 2007 number by 9 Planet Tour from the archive for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear music from Atlanta, Georgia's Senorita Awesome, and reviewed Jeffrey J. Beauvais' Love All Around CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

In Local Music News...
The band Hate Grenade is in search for a new bass player, after announcing this week that Rich Johnson will step away from the group after August. Rich's final show with the group will be on Friday, September 4 at McGarvey's in Altoona. Hate Grenade will next perform next Friday, August 7 at the Route 22 Rock and Blues Festival near Huntingdon.
Speaking of which, this year's Route 22 Rock and Blues Festival does happen next weekend, from Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9, at the Lincoln Caverns campground off Route 22 near Huntingdon, and will feature a variety of original live music acts all three days. Friday evening's music starts at 6 p.m., and will feature Arsenal, It Is Written, Cavern 666, Klockwick and Hate Grenade. Saturday's lineup includes Brian Snare, Kevo Can't Dance, Strait & Miller, the Blacksnakes, Bail Jack, the Hidden Agendas, The Whatleys, Nobody's Heroes, the Legendary Hucklebucks, Dr. Smoke and Black Sun. Sunday's acts include Drew Dodson, B.O. Railroad, the Nick Miller Project, Rich Edmundson and The Perkolators. Ticket prices for the weekend are $30 per person for advance, and $40 at the gate. Anybody under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
And Felix & the Hurricanes have made it official...They have found their new bass player to replace Jeff Clapper, and he is a familiar name. Tony Mollick has taken over bass duties with the Hurricanes, and began his tenure with the group at the end of last month. Tony said that his other project, the Jive Turkeys, is still together and is planning to head into the studio to record new material soon.
