Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the June 15 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com). The show can also be streamed via either Rocky website, www.rocky1049.com or www.rocky99.com.
In honor of Father’s Day, we honored area music scene family traditions on our 2014 installment of the Father’s Day Special! We explored local and regional music scene family traditions and family trees, with the emphasis on songs featuring area music scene dads, moms, sons and daughters (with a few brothers thrown in). Along the way, we debuted new songs from Peter Wolf, The Copper Lesbots, Nate Myers and Strait & Miller. We also dug out tracks by Sound Driven, Bitter Route and Bashful from the archive for “Local Music Flashbacks,” and reviewed Retro Rocket’s self-titled CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”
