Roy Corle Passes...

Post by Jim Price »

Since nobody has reported it here, I thought I'd better pass it along for those who do not know...

Roy Corle, A Bedford area musician since the 1960s, passed away unexpectedly last Sunday, March 23, from an apparent heart attack at age 63.

Roy most recently was the bass player with country-rock group Midnight Rodeo. He had a lengthy career on Bedford County stages, playing guitar and bass for such bands as Dick & the Countdowns, Nightshift, Flux, Flyer, the Park Williams Band, Three Of A Kind and Stranger. He also did musical instrument repair, and sold his own line of SRC Barker bass amplifiers.

Here is a picture I took of Roy during Midnight Rodeo's performance at the 2006 Harvestfest at Delgrosso's Amusement Park in Tipton. My condolences to Roy's family, friends and musical associates.

A real shocker... He just built a Deluxe Reverb for me that sounds amazing. Felix used his expertise as an amp tech for years and used the amps that Roy handbuilt. He sounded like an excited little kid when he'd call me up and say, "Dude, you gotta hear this tonemonster!" Roy was a true Gentleman. You will be sadly missed... R.I.P. Amigo.
