WTB Pickups

Post by tonefight »

Always experimenting with pickups

No super duper distortion models, mayby a set of Burstbuckers ? Seymore Duncan SH-1 thru Sh-4 ? Let me know what ya got. They'll be goin in a Strat pickguard. Something in a matched set only, black or cream, enough wire left to hook up and lets be reasonable on price. If I can get em delivered to my door on ebay for the same price don't bother.

And FYI an SH-4 is the JB model with an output of over 16k. That puts it squarely in the realm of the "super duper distortion models".

True an SH-4 would be about the limit. I was thinkin The Invader and that level pickup is a definate No.
The Alnico Pro II's should fit into the style I'm lookin for. Does the Neck PU have plenty of wire to get to Strat controls ?
$100 isn't a bad deal, give it a few days and let me see what else comes around.

They're a nice balanced set that is great for classic rock and hard rock. Plus they would work well in a guitar with a pick gaurd. They are black and have all the lead wire that they came with new. At around $80.00 each new, $100.00 for a like new set of these is a pretty good deal.

And just about every version of the Burstbucker sucks. The originals, BB3, and BB Pro. It's the first thing that I change with Les Pauls. I was fortunate enough to be able to sell the last three sets of those fairly quickly. I'll have another set of BB Pros for sale, but they aren't cheap. That's Gibsons most expensive pickup. Don't ask me why. Lol. I have no idea how they managed to make a pickup that was muddy and high endy at the same time.

I'm not complaining on the price if they got all the wire. Only thing holding me back right now is making a special trip to Jtown.

They're going to be at Guitars N Stuff on Tuesday. That should cut a bit of distance off.

I'm actually heading over that way shortly but I'll probably be on my way to Altoona before he even opens but we'll see.
