I think what they mean is people are either not going out to bars to drink, or if they do they are having one or two drinks a night. I know I quit drinking in bars when the DUI fined went higher and the blood alcohol went down. I think what is hurting them is people are afraid to drink and then drive. I guess that's a good thing in some respects, but not for club owner and musicians.

You would think somebody would start a night club/bar bus ....

I've talked to bar owners before about getting together and talking to Amtran about keeping some buses open till late to make bar runs. LCB said that would be enticing people to drink and cant do that. Stupid...TheBMC wrote:You would think somebody would start a night club/bar bus ....
Not sure if a civilian with a bus could do this insurance wise. LCB would find a way to shut it down im sure.
I work with Amtran actually and I could see that being the case.....
I'm sure as a civilian it should be doable... Profitable however I don't know. I have seen them surface in larger cities... like pittsburghs D.D. limo and IUP's Drunk Bus... but the problem would be buy in from folks in this area. Is it something that people would use if they knew about it?
I've considered it and looked into business license ect but not the insurance end of it.... Of course I'd have to hire a driver on gig nights .lol.

The LCB is a holdover from a time when the Governor was butthurt over prohibition being repealed. It seems like the organization has continued the anti-drinking agenda until 2013.
I'm no fan of Corbett, but when he was pushing for privatization of PA's alcohol sales, I was hoping he would dismatle the PLCB and PLCE in the process. But I was probably hoping for too much.

It does suck that another venue in the area for live music is gone. I know many can take Frank or leave him but, he did at least attempt to keep live entertainment going even with the noise cops on his ass all the time. I've spent the last 5 years or so running the in-house system there. Since I no longer have a need for it, it is listed for sale in the items for sale section.
