Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the April 7 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to our guest via phone this week, the “Slide Ruler,” Sterling Koch (www.sterlingkoch.com)! We talked about Sterling’s career to date, and discussed and heard tracks from his new CD, Let It Slide! Since Sterling was our guest, we had to visit his past for one of two “Local Music Flashback” features this week, digging a 1986 gem by The Sterling Cooke Force from the archive! We also aired a short chat with Mark Triforo, John Scarfone and Xeno keyboardist/singer Fran Hite – all involved in the 9th annual Jeff Wallack Memorial Show, which happens next Saturday, April 13 at Pellegrine’s. We previewed the show, which features a reunion performance from Xeno – their first time together onstage in 25 years! Our second “Local Music Flashback” was a 1987 song by Xeno! Along the way, we debuted new songs by Nobody’s Heroes, Adam Ernst and Biscuit Jam. We also updated “Local Music News,” and reviewed Shane Speal’s Twelve Stones CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”
