Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the February 24 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
The 17th annual Millennium Music Conference took place last weekend in the Harrisburg area, and the “Homegrown Rocker” was once again there to represent! This week, we recapped the conference, featuring audio from panels, comments from musicians and other music industry professionals who took part in the conference, and music from some of the nearly 300 different bands and artists who showcased in Harrisburg last weekend! Along the way, we updated “Local Music News,” and dug a 2000 song by Gauge from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback.”

During the Millennium Music Conference, we invited showcasing bands and artists to submit CDs into a “Homegrown Rocker” drop box during the weekend, and at the close of the business portion of the conference, we drew one CD. The band or artist whose CD we picked won a guest appearance on next week’s show! This year’s winner was a Brooklyn-based studio/band project called Spice House Music Co.! We will get acquainted with this project on next week’s show, hear tracks from their The Revival CD, and you’ll have a chance to call in to win your own copy! We will also update “Local Music News,” dig a song from the archive for another “Local Music Flashback,” and review Eli the Hawk’s Fable In Time CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Get acquainted with Spice House Music Co. on the “Homegrown Rocker” next Sunday night!
And the “Homegrown Rocker” is available for digital download off either Rocky website after each and every show. Just check on either (www.rocky1049.com) or (www.rocky99.com) and download your copy of the show!
