Gerry Anderson R.I.P.

Post by Jim Price »

For anybody who used to watch sci-fi shows like Space: 1999, UFO or Thunderbirds while growing up, the mastermind behind those shows, Gerry Anderson, has passed away at the age of 83. Here's the BBC story:

I used to be a Space: 1999 fanatic as a kid. I think I still have some episodes saved on a VHS tape somewhere.

I'll own it...I still have a diecast metal Space: 1999 Eagle spaceship stored away as well. I bet that thing would fetch some bucks on eBay if I ever decided to sell it...

I don't know. I feel ebay has killed the collectors market as far as making a ton of money. You look at some sports collectibles and they're not as much as you'd think. You'd still get some money out of it, but remember how much value things got before ebay???
