This is the thread where we discuss Bourbon.

Not rum, Not beer, Not wine. I like a good craft brew, but to be honest I am totally sick of this new fad of "hop Heads". So I sit here half tanked on Knob creek. Quicker than your double IPA anyday. I have to say, it's allfuckinright. Better than Makers Mark and I almost got married to that shit. i think I'm gonna wait before I commit to just one whiskey. Tell me some of your faves and I will try them all til my liver pops.

If we can go a bit beyond bourbon, i absolutely love Tullamore Dew, great blended irish whiskey, if thats not available i like Old Granddad on the rocks or Eagle rare reserve (bourbon) . All three are good but tullamore dew is by far the smoothest closely followed by eagle reserve.

Nice lowender. You ever had Knob Creek? I like Eagle Rare, but think the KC is smoother. My fave Irish whiskey is Bushmills white label. Buffalo Trace is a good Bourbon in the same vein as Eagle Rare.

Some of this stuff is pricey and above me abusing. The Knob creek is right on the line. haha

I like the knob creek also, great bourbon, ive always liked that one straight up in a glass no ice, like i take tullamore dew. Another you mit try, its the best (imho) cheap ass whiskey out there for the $$$ called rebel yell. I know it sounds strange, but its pretty decent for what you pay for it :-). Ive been on a little Glennfiddich kick lately for some reason, its really nice also.

Ive never tried buffalo trace, i will definitely put it in my wallet for the next time im out. Bushmills ... Done very very very dumb things while drinking bushmills. :-)

Brother, even with the typos I understood your post better than a lot of the gibberish I read on the internet. Maybe it's because we both speak whiskey fluently? haha. Actually a good buddy of mine swears by Rebel Yell. I have yet to try it. I think old crow and 4 queens scared me off cheap whiskey. Bulliet or maybe it's Buliett ? Idk, any ways, it's not bad, but it's almost like Old GD with another label. Wild Turkey 101 is good as well.

Here's something funny:

I put off trying that Red Stag stuff from Jimmy Beam for about a good six months because they put Kid Rocks DumbAss on the label. HAHA! Oh, well, that's marketing, right? Actually the only reason I don't like that dude is he could do very well with his own talents and actually like some of his original stuff. Just wish he'd leave other peoples shit alone. He's a hard dude for me to dislike, yet I somehow keep finding a way. haha!

Did I mention how good this whiskey is?

Never tried bookers, it looks like im going to have to get a big ass list started :-)

Here in johnstown they do a beer mung. Its like 50$ and you try a ton of different beers all night. I would like to see some sort of whiskey version..... preferably in a hotel bar :-)

I know I'm gonna get called a wimp for this, but I always drink Southern Comfort cuz it's the only whiskey I've ever had that doesn't taste like it was drained off a corpse. I have no tolerance for the taste of alcohol whatsoever.

It's all about the Turkey, even if it's not this holiday...

Gentleman Jack Daniel's is my first choice, and Crown Royal is a close second.

I feel the same way in the morning when I wake up from drinking any whiskey, but what the fuck! As long as we're draining some corpses, let's get fucked up.

The worst part about picking up cougars @ closing time is that my damn car smells like lady stetson for the next couple days.

If you havent tried it yet, give Makers 46 a try. Got to try some last night, was just as good as some of the 75$ plus bottles ive tried for much less. A friend had some, put my order in for some today. Should make the holidays much easier to tolerate :-)

Makers 46 is very good. I'm a fan. Some other favs are Knob Creek, Eagle Rare, Bulleit, and Woodford Reserve. Of course, when the budget doesn't allow for those good old Rebel Yell does just fine. Anyone else here into cigars, too?

Bought a bottle of Eagle Rare single barrel barrel bourbon over the weekend. It is excellent. Very oaky at first, but finishes with a lot of vanilla and caramel. Not harsh at all. I'm getting thirsty......

If you are after quick, cheap, but still drinkable I'd point you towards Bullet. If you want something that is classy and delicious Eagle Rare is on of the best I've had.

Oh, yeah. Agree with you on the Bulleit.

Just spotted Old Grandad 114 proof  . Not brave enough to try it yet, but soon....soon.
