I wonder why are 'Smoke on the Water' and 'Highway Star' on there twice While 'Hush', 'My Woman from Tokyo' and 'Pefect Strangers' are not on the record.

Good question. Maybe no band has signed up to do those songs. ?

The 3 songs you mention were not on the original Machine Head album.

Primal Fear does an awesome version of Speed King that's very worthy of this compilation.
I have a cd of someone doing "Burn", but their name escapes me at the moment.

I'm off to youtube to check out this album, thank you!

Perfect Strangers is prob my fav next to Knockin at your backdoor.
Jorn Lande does a killer version of 'strangers. I posted that on here a little while ago, but you should check him out.

I am feeling inspired to learn a Deep Purple song. Ashamingly, I must admit to knowing how to play zero Deep Purple, despite having been a fan since I was still in the womb. I can prove that actually. Well, no I can't. And it's not true.

EDIT: I found nothing on youtube but I'll keep checking from time to time. The only song I looked for was Space Truckin by Maiden. Found a version of Bruce Dickinson doing it, but it's poopy quality...
