Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the April 15 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to our guests, Jonestown-based rockers Shift Seven, for joining us via phone this week! We met the band members and learned their story, and heard insights about their music as we played tunes from Shift Seven’s latest CD, Love Lust. Along the way, we updated “Local Music News,” dug a 1993 song by State College’s Soul Gypsys from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed Borrowed Time’s This Old Dirt Road CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”
Here is this week's playlist:
HOUR ONE:
MOUNTAIN ROAD – “Pennsylvania Channel Cats”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Grow”
SHIFT SEVEN – “Around You”
NORMAN NARDINI – “I Seen Too Much”
SHIFT SEVEN – “To Hell with It”

On our next show, we will again empty out the “Homegrown Rocker” mailboxes, and debut tunes from the recordings we have received from local and regional bands and artists in recent weeks! We will also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for another “Local Music Flashback,” step “Across State Lines” to hear music from a band or artist from outside of PA, and review Norman Nardini’s Bone A Fide CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Emptying the “Homegrown Rocker” mailboxes means maximum local and regional music on the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!
