This might actually bring someone like me to actually watch a reality show. I'm a pretty big fan and his presence will definitely bring up viewership.

Are you really?

ALWAYS (all ways) found Stern to be borish, predicatable, banal, and sophmoronic.

I'm still going to miss Piers. I'm never going to forget when he stormed off the set from that Paper Horn guy. I actually could feel his hate. I still think Piers, Simon, and someone else of that nature should still do one. None of that Paula Abdul coddling, or Howie putting through silly acts. Just hard-nosed, you make one mistake, you fail.

I could see Stern making it like his show. Someone does something silly and he'll egg it on, similar to Howie, and then when it comes to a yes or no vote, he'll say like hell no or something.

yeah, I never got the who appeal with Howard Stern, but then again, I don't have tv service for this very reason. The handful of times I've watched American Idol, the only person whose opinion I really appreciated was Simon Cowell's, in other words: the hard ass who told people straight out what he thought of them and didn't coddle or sugar=coat things, and if nothing else, Stern will bring that with him, I'm sure.

I didn't say I listen to him. I just simply asked a question. Truth be known, I can't stand him.

If you've ever heard him interview a legitimate guest, (ie. not a porn star or a whack packer) you would hear where his talents lie. I have become fans of many musical guests that I normally couldn't stand after hearing them on his show.

It makes me laugh how many people jump to the quick: He's gonna ruin the show, he's gonna make it like his, etc, etc.
He's not. That's what HIS show is for. Most people (especially those who don't listen) don't realize at the base level the man is a showman, first and foremost. He had the vision years ago of what radio needed, and he did it. He had the guts to be defiant and not roll over & pushed the limits, and became one of the most successful broadcasters ever...if not the most. He knows how to tweak people, and that's what draws them.
It's a known fact that off the air he is one of the most pleasant, nicest people to be around - unlike Don Imus.
Anyone who thinks he's going to bring his toilet humor to the show either isn't thinking, or doesn't understand the dynamic. He knows what his limitations are as far as being a family show. It's a paycheck for him..he's not going to shit where he eats. The man hasn't been this successful for this long by being an idiot.
But you know what? Love him or hate him, people are going to watch & the ratings will jump. Why? Either because they're a staunch fan OR they want to see if he does just what they predicted he'll do. And when he doesn't, they'll keep watching...because..."he will, wait and see...next episode."

Nicely said.
