No, I was against it when it was American Idol, and Star Search, for that matter. For the life of me, I can't understand who watches that crap. I barely watch any of the 4 major networks anymore, except Fox animation on Sunday nights, and NBC comedies on Thursday nights. The rest of the time, I'm on the History Channel, Science Channel, Nat Geo, or HD Theater (Velocity).
Have you ever tried to watch Glee? Wow.

Nope, never watched glee Johnny. What happened was my wife recorded the x factor, just to see what it was about, so we watched it. She doesn't understand music like I do, and even she was disturbed by how terrible, and talentless the show is...what's really bad, is they were picking the final 12 contestants, so it's not like it was the typical "terrible" tryout thing going on.

Basically, it shows the decline of music in this country....and even the terrible ones were given applause, and no real negative criticism. Also, I learned that rap is now considered "singing".........

I've railed against "Idol" type shows for years. All you have to do to realize how crappy singing has gotten over the last 10-15 years is ask yourself one question...

When was the last time you heard the National Anthem sung CORRECTLY?

Exactly.

It's the "American Idol" factor. Vocal gymnastics. Complete garbage. No thanks. I'll stick with NCIS, Food Network, IFC, South Park, Tosh.0 and my PS3, thankyouverymuch.
Dood...

I can barely stand any TV show. NFL, Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Death Valley, Tosh.0, and now, Beavis and Butthead. Glad to see TV is starting to show some respect to the horror genre.

I caught Beavis & Butthead, too.. it's pretty much like it was 15 yrs ago, except there are fewer videos. The show after it, Good Vibes, was HILARIOUS! It makes for a funny hour of TV.

What, no videos. They'll probably just start showing clips of reality shows like Jersey Shore. Walking Dead rocks, Fringe, UFC, History Channel, Disc., etc. are my mainstays. Problem is my work schedule prevents me from watching them. I used to tape them but all my VCR's shit the bed like they were hit with a EMP. Guess I need to join the 21st century. Friggin' technology sucks.

I agree.. I think they want to show talent compitition they should show people and bands who do thier own stuff.

And Beavis and Butthead did have a Jersey Shore clip I believe(but I can't be sure if that was..not my show).. Finally a reason to turn on MTV again..atleast for a 1/2 hr..lol

I'm with the rest of you guys..I'll watch History, Discovery, Comedy Central...American Restoration, Pawn Stars, Tosh.O, South Park!

yeah, for most of the reasons here ( and many more beyond) I have never (and will never) pay for "television". I had rabbit ears, got one channel and still felt like I watched too much TV. When they switched to digital, I just waved good-bye and I've been much better ever since. After 2 weeks I didn't miss it at all and when I do see TV now, it kinda weirds me out.
