Are there any vintage drum collectors around Altoona?

Post by Craven Sound »

I just picked up (another) set and am not sure if I want to re-sell it or keep it and store it. I could sell it on eBay, but shipping a 5 piece kit would be a hassle. After I get it cleaned up, I'd at least like to see what it's worth but am not sure who to call. Any info would be appreciated.

A 60's Whitehall (Pearl) kit with Tiger's eye wrap. Still has the logo front head on the BD. Even if it's not worth anything, (which I doubt) it's a playable kit.

Craven, head over to Pearl Drummers' Forrum and get in touch with Gene Okamato. He is Pearl's rep for the site and a genius with vintage gear. He can ballpark them for ya. They are real good looking drums, and if I had the cash, I'd make you an offer.

I cut a hole in my bass drum head and ruined it. If you guys find out what they're worth, how about posting it. My serial no. is W09188.

Beau Sellers statred out with a pair of these.

I did some research on the Whitehall brand, and they were budget-level drums by Pearl, made alongside other Pearl budgett brands like CB and Maxwin. They probably won't fetch more than a couple hundred on Ebay. I still think they look awesome.

There is a vintage drum show every year in Chicago. Here is one of many links:

Keith Larson (custom drum builder extraordinaire) regularly goes to the show. He will buy vintage drums for the purpose of turning a profit on them in Chicago. Here is his link. If you call him you can use my name. (Or tell him "Shawn's" dad.)
