Unicorn Man?

Post by floodcitybrass »

The word on the street is that Ron Oshersky (aka Unicorn Man) has died?
I have not seen an official obituary yet. Anyone know anything about this?

Is this the dude that ran around with one pant leg rolled up one not, white hair all frazzled lookin with a pig tail right in the middle ( unicorn ) ? I'm guessing it is, he was out there but I understand he has an interesting history. R.I.P. dude.

Rumor has it that he was some sort of genius that lost his mind....that's what the local legend is anyway. He used to go to Forest Hills School Board meetings and call everyone Communists....definitely not a boring guy.

I usually would see him around some of the Johnstown and Cambria County festivals during the summer and fall. I didn't see him at all this year. I didn't make it to Forest Hills Festival, where he would usually lead all the polka dancers onto the dance area in front of the stage when Johnstown Buttonbox started performing.

Here is a memorial picture of him, doing his thing in front of the band Echoes during the 2006 edition of Ebensburg's Potatofest.

I understand this "unicorn" thing, but my generation always called him "Einstein." Urban Legend would have you believe that this man was of genius level intelligence and just acting crazy to screw the government or society or both. If that's the case, good for you, Unicorn Man/Einstein. Rest in Peace.
