Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 7 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).

This week, we presented the latest installment of our recurring “Cover Song Special.” We heard local and regional bands and artists cover and interpret a diverse range of tunes from other artists, spanning Johnny Cash and Robert Johnson to Roxette and Lady GaGa, to Nick Gilder, Hot Chocolate, Michael Jackson and more! Always one of the program’s more popular specials, this year’s “Cover Song Special” again delivered some new and interesting highlights and surprises.

We’ll also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and review Rigel’s Xenophobia CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” Rapid Fire visits the “Homegrown Rocker,” this Sunday night at 8 PM!
