Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the June 19 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Once again, we celebrated Father’s Day on the “Homegrown Rocker” by celebrating area music scene family traditions! We spotlighted area music scene dads, moms, sons and daughters by playing songs featuring each, with several songs spotlighting parents and kids! As we updated “Local Music News,” we reported the recent passing of Gallitzin music family patriarch Dan Myers, and paid homage by playing a live song Dan sang in 2004, followed by songs featuring his sons, Dan II and Chris. Before reviewing E.V.K.’s Fat Vinny Was Here CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner,” we played a song by Frayed featuring Chelsea Rae and Stevie Moses’ father, Dave Moses. Area music scene family traditions were in the spotlight!
