I just recently aquired a 1964 Pre CBS Fender Mustang. Everything is compleatly original. Got it for about 200 bucks. It was sitting in a box for about 30 years, my friend told me if I got it rollin its all mine. I resaudered all the wiring (Because all the cloth wiring was falling apart), put this thing together, and Bam its crazy how great this thing sounds.
Ive done some homework and what not, and it is legit. Scoured Ebay, but really Im looking for an estimate on value. Not to sell but more to see what I have. The only thing wrong with it is the paint is no longer there and its all bare wood on the body....no dings...From what I can see under the neck it was the red one (Being the 3 colors available was Red White and Blue). Early 64 Short Scale
Any idea? and or comments...mabe an apraiser? Any info would be greatly appriciated but I know one thing..this guitar is a player, great sound even with the original pickups.
i had a 65 mustang and nt the reissue and i sold it and still can kick my self for that... i ran it through a sunn amp and the clean channel was so clear and bell like ... The sound was so amazing and the overdrive was biting .. man i miss that..you got yourself a gem... hold onto it no matter what
