i'm trying something with my marshall 1960A cab. the sound is pretty uni-directional so i had some spacers made that will allow each speaker an additional tilt of 1/2". so far in the practice room it has really widened the sound. i'll get to use it out live saturday and will give an update

It will make a bigger difference if you use a mix of speakers in an "X" pattern. Two common speakers to mix are G12T-75's and Vintage 30's. My preference is two V30's and two G12H-30's.
When doing this you must remember to take the lowest wattage speaker and then multiply by the total number of speakers to get the power handling of the cabinet. For example in a 2x12 with one V30 and one G12H30, the G12H30 is the lowest wattage speaker at 30 watts. Multiply by two since it is a 2x12 and the power handling is 60 watts max. Do not add the two wattages together ie a 60 watt V30 and a 30 watt G12H30 do not add up to 90 watts total for the two.

Because of a physics phenomenom called acoustic coupling of identical speakers in the same plane, the lower midrange and bass will be diminished in a 1960A cab if you don't do the following:
If you are going to tilt speakers in a 4x12 angled cab, make sure you tilt the bottom two in exactly the same direction and the top two in exactly the same direction.
If you are going to mix speakers, make sure the bottom two are identical and the top two are identical. It is best if the top two are wired in parallel and the bottom two are wired in parallel and the pairs wired in series.
If those spacers are not 12" rings that seal the baffle, i can't imagine them doing any good whatsoever.
Remember, in a bigger room, you are going to get more dispersion...never try to adjust your cab to a practice room unless its in the basement of a bowling alley.
This acoustic coupling is one of the reasons why 4x12 sealed cabs (especially the straight cabs) have great bass.
