This guy sure was extremely influential in many aspects of rock and pop music.

Yup, me, too. I first heard of Ted Nugent and AC/DC on Kirchner's show.

The Don Kirshner Rock Concert show was the best. Much better that the Midnight Special which seemed too glitzy.

BTW, I got second row, center and a meet and greet for Kansas at The Palace on March 4. Can't wait.
When I hear Don Kirshner's name, I think of BOC's "The Marshall Plan."

I remember staying up at night to watch this show with my older brother when I was still a kid. It definitely sparked my interest in rock music.

I second what UCJoe said.

I taped audio from a few shows back in the day with a plastic microphone and cassette deck. Deep Purple, Sabbath, Edgar Winter (w/Rick Derringer), Nugent, and a few others. Lousy quality but great memories.

76, that's young age to die. how does anyone die of HF? largely avoidable these days. eat healthy food, get some exercise, watch blood pressure. good to go..
