Lost Floor Jack Rte 271 near vinco

Post by onetooloud »

Ok so its not a music related post , however I'm a bit upset about this.

So I get a call from a friend around 12:30 Am (i'm asleep) that the wheel fell of his jeep and could I help him? Load up the truck with the needed tools and head out.

I get a short distance out on the main highway and notice the tailgate open and no jack. Well I did hear a sound a short distance back. Thinking thats where the Jacks is I drive like a madman to find it.

It was right where I felt it would be, however someone picked it up. It was only there a few minutes and I had only passed one truck.

I could have read their shoe size in the snow thats all the longer it had been.

Well anyway it was at the intersection of Rte 271 and Benshoff Hill Road.

I was also a Christmas present from my father some years back so it would be nice to get it back.

I hope you get it back. That stinks that somebody picked it up so quickly. Isn't there a music store in the area in Wesley Chapel? Maybe you can ask the owner to post a lost ad or pass the word around. Same with the Value Outlet Store in Vinco. Maybe it was somebody local who picked it up and never saw it fall off your truck.

I sure hope the song hit the road jack and don't you come back no more does not apply. I know you are a great guy always trying to help out somebody in need. I wish you well my friend.

If I found a floor jack along the road, I'd pick it up.

Ray, sorry to hear. I'll put the word out on my bus.

Anyway, you were the right guy to call.

sucks to lose your belongings...but let's be realistic...someone saw it and took it. they knew it was lost by someone and figured that the person wasn't coming back for it. luckily it was only a jack.

me too. i found an axe left by the altoona fire dept laying in front of my parents' house one time. maybe karma will catch up with me and my house will burn down? i can use the axe to chop my way through a wall for dramatic effect during my escape.

I can understand picking something up along the road. However these people where in a hurry to pick it. You could tell it had only been there moments becuase it was snowing. About six inches that night.

They also didn't take the time to look for the jack handle which was laying right beside it in the snow. What good is it to them without the handle?

They should also understand that someone is most likley lookng for it.

I've attempted to locate the owners of many itemsI've found n the past.

Many times I've found the owners. Much like my jack these where not 50 cent items. Thess are items I found the owners to.

1. engagement ring
2. A horse
3. Several hundred dollars in a store
4. Peacocks (a bird)
5. Untold items teft behind on my stages

Just hope if you lose something that I'm the one who finds it.

Maybe that makes me a chump, but at tleast I tried to do the right thing.

Oh and I do have ads about in the area looking for this.

No, I think it's cool that you try and return lost goods, Ray. Many people wouldn't do that.

But I've scanvenged many-a-pick off of stages that I've then used.

(if anyone sees any of the guys from Green Eggs, tell them that I really like their picks :D)

This list of returned lost items and searching for the owners sounds like the script for a movie.

I find stuff all the time in front of my shop and along side when the snow melts in the spring there will be all kinds of treasures. in 14yrs I have only found one owner and that was for a smashed cell phone ( the send button worked) Good Luck if I hear of it I will let you know.
