phantom power
I was wondering, does phantom power damage a mic that shouldn't receive it? I have seen a high school auditorium with an old board that has only one switch for all of the channels' phantom power, and they have condenser mics plugged in along side some sm57s and sm58s. Are those sm57s and sm58s going to fry?

Like anything else, you should check the compatibility before hooking it up.
If it is a tube mic, it could hurt it ..
