ROCKPAGE MVP!?!?
I have an idea....let's do a Rockpage awards....
we can vote for:
MVP(most valuable poster)
Rookie of the Year
MAP(most annoying poster)
Post of the Year
We've done this on other message boards and it's something to do that's interesting at the very least....If you want, send all votes to me on pm, ill do it....If people are interested, we could set it up more....

Post of the year:
Poster: Jimi Hatt
Date: Feb. 29, 2004
Subject: Hot Wings
"What you fail to realize is that your wings are LAZY and PREDICTABLE. Your recipe lacks CONTROL, DIRECTION, and TECHNIQUE. I wish you would stop naively trying to pass yourself off as a cook WHEN YOU HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OR RESPECT FOR THE CRAFT OF MAKING HOT WINGS.
Here is a typical BORING and CLICHE recipe for hot wings:
5 tablespoons Dave's Insanity Sauce(the one that has the insane reading)
5 tablespoons tabasco sauce
2 oz. Louisiana Hot Sauce
3 oz. Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce
3 teaspoons garlic
3 teaspoons pepper
This was obviously written in about 30 SECONDS by someone with NO EDUCATION. Notice the lack of development. The so-called COOK uses FOUR different hot sauces. If THE cook had any sort OF direction, this goal could have been accomplished WITH only one hot SAUCE. Here's my recipe, which is much better:
20 tablespoons Dave's Insanity Sauce(the one that has the insane reading)
3 teaspoons garlic
3 teaspoons pepper
See how much more CONTROL and PURPOSE this recipe has?
You may say that you LIKE your hot wings, but it is a FACT that my wings SHOW MORE CRAFT AND TECHNIQUE AND ARE THEIRFOUR THE SOUPERIOR WINGS.
Of course I like and enjoy all hot wings. Everyone should think OUTSIDE THE KFC BOX and make wings any way they want. But it is a FACT that MY WAY of making wings is THE ONLY CORRECT WAY TO MAKE WINGS AND ALL OTHER WINGS ARE LAZY AND NAIVE."
That is TOO F*CKING FUNNY.

Dood...
I had already decided 2 weeks ago or so that that was the best post I have read here since this version of Rockpage began December 2002. Bravo to Jimi Hatt for humor, sarcasm, and a great slam to Metalrules.
Some of Aja's posts and replies from others using her stylings would SOOOOO rank near the top as well for me. There are probably a few posts that had so many misspelled words or bad grammar that I enjoyed, but let he without fault cast the first stone.
Why does it seem that we hold up for admiration things that show others in a not-so-positive light?
On with the voting!!!

Best signature: ToonaRockGuy- " Stop scratching your 'nads and post something."
Most annoying: (okay, probably me)
Best avatar: EvenAsWeDrum - scary whiteface dude. (still creeps me out, man)
Most valuable poster: Jimi Hatt's always brilliant, Ron and LoneWolf know the gear, and Jim Price is absolutely invaluable to the local and regional musician. Man, that's a tough one... Robthedrummer has united and mobilized the drummers, Facingwest really knows his stuff, Hurricanes always has a snappy comeback, and Aja and Metalrules make me feel well-adjusted by comparison. It's a hella-cool board, people, what more can I say? (You know me, I'll think of something!
