Current Cd that you can not quit listening to?
I am wondering what current cd you have that you can not quit listening to? Mine is Dierks Bently - Up on the ridge. It is a good cd ...

I havent had much time recently to listen to any music other than the bands Ive recorded. However, on a ride to the studio, I did put in a Hero Destroyed cd that Chris gave me last week. I REALLY like what ive heard from them so far! Im really looking forward to seeing them at the Underground Music Fest

The only change with the line is Michael Tate on vocals. I saw them at the Jordan Center in January and though they were great. Duncan Phillips is an animal on drums, I seen him do things that I didn't think were possible ...rreihart wrote:Savor that one, because I just saw them last week and the new lineup is HORRIBLE. That all depends on which lineup of the band we're talking about. I thought they were at there best about 5 years ago when Phil Joel played bass and Paul Colman was in the band playing guitar. Of course, Peter is their best vocalist. The biggest issue I had with them last week was Tate. He's a great vocalist in his own right, but he ruins the Newsboys songs. Plus, they only plaedy about 50% Newsboys and the rest was DC talk.f.sciarrillo wrote:The only change with the line is Michael Tate on vocals. If they wanted so badly to have this lineup in a band, they should have formed a new band and put out a full CD and if they wanted to play Newsboys and DC talk songs, then so be it. In my opinion though, they're just riding the coattails of the Newsboys name and popularity.
Duncan is a great drummer, but he still doesn't crack my top ten. Not even my top ten Christian drummers.

I am glad I did not go see The Newboys last week then. I wanted to go but changed my mind and went to a different festival. I agree that Paul Colman was the best guitarist they ever had in the band. I also like Tait and his own band's songs. The last time I saw The Newboys was the Furler, Colman, Frankenstein, Phillips lineup and while they were really good, I did not like that all the bass parts were tracked or keybass.rreihart wrote:That all depends on which lineup of the band we're talking about. For anybody who never saw The Newsboys prior lineups, they sure did put on quite a spectacular stage show.
The song Breakfast is still one of my all time favorite super catchy songs.
