Lynch Mob/ Michael Schenker

Post by lynch1 »

Lynch Mob and Michael Schenker are coming to Altar Bar in Pittsburgh on July 28th. Oni Logan is back on vocals. Gonna go on-line and get tickets. anyone else going or hear about this? I would give my left one just for the chance to shake the hand of my guitar idol.

I'm planning to go to their show 2 days later at Jaxx in VA. I was fortunate to see Schenker at that venue about 4 years ago, and he was fantastic. I'm not going to get tickets just yet though since there is a fair chance that the volatile Schenker will self-destruct before either of those tour dates. I like Lynch just fine, but Schenker is the main attraction for me.

what's up with Schenker? I will be leaving after Lynch Mob anyway, I'm assuming they will be the first band. I've been a Lynch fan since I was 16, and still have yet to see him. It will be nice to seen him in a smaller venue.

I got my tickets in the mail yesterday. Michael Schenker is a god,but don't be suprised if this tour gets cancelled,Mike flips out occasionally and cancels tours. 30 years of Schenker, hoping to hear some Scorpions and UFO tunes.
And Lynch should go back to Dokken.

rumor has it that Dokken is working on setting up a tour with the original lineup for next year. I've been hearing that about Schenker, hopefully they don't cancel. would Lynch Mob still show and have another band there, how would that work?

I'll be honest with you...I'd be much more tempted to stay out in the parking lot (eating kabobs at Jaxx) and getting my groove on during Lynch Mob and then going in for Schenker. Now don't get me wrong...Mr. Scary himself is quite the guitarist and all that, but leaving before Schenker...that's just plain wrong.

damn......I didn't think I would cause such a ruckus. I know he's good, but just not one of my favorites. I'll get something else going here now. Eventhough I am a guitar player, Hendrix did nothing for me. Look out, here we go........let the verbal bashings begin (lol).

GASP! HORROR! SHOCK! Just kiddin' man, it's all good...just a bit o' fun on the ol' RP. As far as Hendrix goes, that's cool, there's plenty of players out there that I feel similarly about. One thing's for certain though-whether you know it or not you've probably been influenced by him because even if you don't directly like him, I'd be willing to bet that at least half of your idols probably think he's God.

Hmmm...consider the source of that statement. I think Bushy might know more about gitfiddlin' than the both of us combined.

gallowglass......absolutely, Lynch does Voodoo Chile on Youtube, I think it is from one of his instructional videos idk. To each his own I always say. I'm sure there's people out there that think Lynch is good, but it may not be their style. I do get a lot of flack even from non-players when I say that I didn't care for Hendrix. I've read article after article about the players that I grew up listening to and 90% of them said that one of their major influences was Hendrix. I did go on Youtube and watch some Schenker stuff, like I said, yeah it's good, but just didn't have the WOW I got when I saw Lynch play. I do like "Into the Arena" though, it had an Yngwie type feel to it and some "Mr. Scary" too. I may stick around for Schenker, just to say "Yeah I saw him play at a small club in Pittsburgh", then again I may come out there having that WOW and saying "Why haven't I really listened to this guy earlier". I had that with Dimebag. Just really discovered Pantera and thought "Holy crap, why didn't I listen to this before." only to lose him a few months later. Anyway. Eventhough I don't know many of you personally, maybe I'll find out later that you were at the show.

I'd skip Schenker, too...never heard a note of his stuff.

Good luck meeting Lynch...he's a jerk. One of my guitar idols, but a total dillhole. Went to see Dokken in Pittsburgh when Dysfunctional came out. We waited at the side door forever, and Don, Mick, and Jeff all took their turn at signing autographs and talking with the fans. When George came out, he pushed right thru everyone muttering "move! lemme thru! no autographs!" and just jumped in the limo and left. Coulda had the skids, a personal problem or whatever, but my ticket stub is missing the one autograph I wanted the most. Total buzzkill for the night.

ronnyd....lol...that's funny....I think its good that he is trying to take care of himself (other than his smoking). I have to go with RFBuck on this one. I've recently listened to some Schenker stuff and it did nothing for me, like I said though I did like Into The Arena. I dunno. Everyone has their favorites, mine just happens to be Lynch. by the way...how is your brother doing? I went to Altoona Campus with him back in 87-88, we had a few classes together. Here's a memory for you. I remember seeing you at Music Emporium when they were in by Bi-Lo, there was a guitar player battle and you played "Cocaine" if I remember correctly. I think you won also.
