facebook vs. myspace
facebook vs. myspace
I'm just curious....how many use facebook? How many use myspace? Which do you prefer and why?
Seems like I am updating three websites. I try to keep the actual website generic enough that it doesn't need to be updated often and refer folks to the myspace and facebook sites. myspace seems like it is phasing out some. I don't see as much activity there.
facebook seems to be getting more popular. I like the ease of creating events and notifying fans. I like that I can add other pages to our page...sort of linking.
What do you folks do?

I use both, but Facebook is my current preference. It's more immediate as far as up-to-date information.
It does look like Myspace is slowing down. Part of my problem with Myspace is too much mailbox clutter. Now that everyone can send their show invites to your mailbox instead of just the bulletin section, it's more aggravating trying to sift through a bunch of show invites to get to an actual email message somebody is trying to send me.
But I find both useful. I use both to network and promote the "Homegrown Rocker," plus I now post links on Facebook whenever I put up a new "Weekend Recap" on "JP's Corner," update the "Homegrown Rocker" playlist/recap on Rocky 104.9's website, or post a new blog on the Altoona Mirror's site.

The thing I hate most about myspace is the spam you get in your mailbox, which is one of the reasons I quit using it. Getting those 50 emails a day from women who claim that they know me only to want me to look at their stupid webcam site just got to be too much. On top of that you have pages that have so much junk on them that it takes an hour to load and kills your pc in the process. Facebook is more clean and I really dig the feed style it has. I like that the best ...

sunset strip uses both. as well as rock page and reverb nation. the combination of the 4 sites is really helpful in promoting the band. reverb nation is cool cause you can post songs like myspace but it is linked to facebook.
you can prick your fingure, but never fingure your.............get your mind outta the gutter.

Seriously, I have both, but MySpace sucks anymore for people, but great for bands.
I think if Facebook would allow bands to post their music right on the page, myspace would be completely obsolete.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.
