~*~What or Who gets you pumped?~*~
Okay..so I've heard that I ask or talk about some of the stupidist things on here. Well, I don't care. I'm curious and I think it's cool to ask. If at any point any of y'all get upset or annoyed by me, please let me know and I'll stop.
Now, for a new question:
A lot of bands have some sort of mascot or thing that gets them all pumped up...what's yours? It doesn't have to be the soul reason you're pumped to play..it could just be something that you always take with you that is "you" defined.
Examples:
*Jamie of Ever Since Yesterday has bobble head dolls on his bass speaker.
*Silver Sunday (I believe that's them...forgive me if I'm wrong) have stuffed animals all over the place.
*A lot of drummers have Animal from the Muppets strapped to their kit.
*Rush has the three stooges.
So, aside from the occasional hott groupie sitting or rything on your amps, what are some things that you have that define you or make you jam hard?

I'll be the one left standing behind you, looking the other way as you glance back at what you've lost.

If I can look out into the audience and even one person appears to be paying attention, I'll play to that person, and it helps me focus on entertaining instead of just going through the motions. That gets me going.
If I'm headed out to play some blues harp, I try to listen to some Indigenous, to soak up some SRV/Hendrix vibe and hopefully translate that onto harp, especially when I'm lucky enough to jam with the 'Canes. With them being so big and loud onstage, you can't get away with being shy about playing harp... I try not to get in the way through most of the song, but hey, when it's my turn to wail, I'm at the plate, swingin' for the cheap seats!
For the solo acoustic thing... eh, I like the part where I get paid.---->JMS

Yeah - I play with bobble-head dolls on my amp. That's three more people on stage head banging!

I listen to Nirvana, TOOL, or Chevelle. I'm also like songsmith, it only takes one person intentively watching me and I will be off in my own world. The music alone, traps itself inside of me like it's very own hostage. Damn what a release! Sometimes playing a show can be better than sex. Not always, but sometimes.
Actions speak louder than words!!

I jam harder when I jam hard. Jumping off things like PA cabs, stages, tables. Jamming on tables. Only quality tables will do--don't need no easy-break tables. Stutter stepping thru the crowd during a lead. Also, jumping onto the dancefloor and spinning around on one foot as fast as possible until I get dizzy and stray off in some direction...
Windmills are cool too, but that's Pete's mantra.
Can't do the playing with my teeth anymore...a (head first into a bridge with no helmet) motorcycle accident in Chicago split my face in half and I lost my incisors. Its not worth risking the $10,000 bridgework.
Behind the back is for rookies...I don't bother with that anymore.

i listen to a good bit of progressive rock, but i need something with less substance to pump me up. Listening to a complicated progression in like 7/4 into 11/8 doesn't pump me up as much as a good hard At the Drive-in song or some other spastic band like that. they rock.
tool pumps me up sometimes, but then i just get angry at the world.

The Face in the Face is inside the Head.
Pearl Jam's "Animal" does it for me, and anything by Rage Against the Machine. The best pump me up on stage is too look over and see your bandmates going nutso along with you. It doesn't matter if there is only 1 person in the bar, if we all start crawling on the floor and jumping off the tables I could play all night.
