The bass has a custom pickguard, and matching pickguard trim around the bridge pickup, but I'm thinking about switching it out. I just want to try some different things, but I don't want to pay tons of money for custom pickguards. I'm thinking the solution for this is to make some custom trim rings to cover the jazz pickup routs.
I'm not familiar with this type of stuff, so I was wondering if anyone on here is into models and stuff and has some experience with it. Seems like the thickness is probably about right, but I need it to be at least kind of ridged. It doesn't really need to provide any structural support, but I don't want it flopping around either.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for some cheap material that I can fashion trim rings from?
That stuff is ok. Just be careful of the glue you use...if you use glue. The wrong kind will either melt it, or cause it to "craze" and that's not good either.
Oh, the stuff I used to use that for when I was into model trains....
