A Fresh Idea and Thread

In hopes to get thing back on the track of replying to things other than metalrules babble, I have a question for all of the musicians out there.

What is your ideal stage setting? Assuming the crowd was in your favor, is that all you would need? I want to know what you all think. Lets have some fun with this.

The on stage mix is most important to me. I have an 8 channel powered p.a. head. I have 2 speakers on each side of my drum kit pointed at me. I mix my electronic drum sounds, my brother's guitar, keys and my keyboard player's guitar. I have my best nights when I can hear every note of guitar and keys being played. The bass is loud enough from Kenny's amp, although I have been thinking about adding it to my mix as an experiment. My set up is important to me too. There are some nights when all my drums, pads and cymbals are all in just the right place. Even with memory locks, it's hard to set my kit up exactly the same way every time.

I love to be outside man ! evening about 8 pm around 75 degrees crowd slightly buzzed from all day jammin and drinkin and just let go man that's the best way for me to put it into words if there is a heaven that is prob. what it's like.

The Pacific Amphitheatre, Cost Mesa California, a sold-out show on a warm September evening, and a fly over by fighter jets during the opening number.

Ozzy experienced it from the stage in 1989... and I would love to. It was impressive from the crowd, but that view from the stage would be fantastic.

Outside gigs are the best....even if its a shitty day...i just love to be able to crank the shit out of my amp, tubes sound so good when you push them hard....

Decent size room, Good sound, decent lights, a crowd packed in like agoraphobic sardines. Now they are there to see Healy or thorogood or somebody like that and they don't know us from adam so they have absolutley no expectations what-so-ever other than they want to hear some blues. All we have to do is give it our best to win them over.

OR The first unsigned band on Leno or Letterman or even Kimmel

A sell-out crowd @ Beaver Stadium(even though they don't hold concerts there) 100,000+ drinking lots of beer, having a great time. Summertime of course, so lots of chicks are running aournd with wet t-shirts, or no t-shirts. A capacity crowd singing along with me word for word. Looking down off stage directly into their eyes, seeing the passion and the apprehension of what our musi stands for. If I had that, I would sign an autograph for every fan, even if it took me three days of straight signing in the parking lot!

Anywhere that is not inside. There is absolutely no comparison in my book. Outside sounds better, and I have been to some shows in the rain -and they still kicked ass. The feeling of freedom, fresh air, it's a lighter, happier, kinda apmosphere! Oh man, I really can't wait for summer now!
