you must be kidding? do you realize that a human being is a human being regardless of our preferred method of communication? this is sad. because another communicates in a different method they are not human? and should not be treated as such? how do you feel about the mentally challenged, they don't communicate in a similar fashion as you do they?

If you moved to a foreign country, would you expect everyone to learn your language just to accomodate you? As far as the mentally challenged, they didn't make that choice so you can throw that out.

i've said my piece. your living on wrong planet if foreigners scare you. like my money ain't green if i speak in another tongue? you guys are living in "altoona" , "redneck heaven" (no offense to real redneck good people) )that isn't even close to real world. you lived and, more importantly, OWNED A BIZ in a big city they are smelting pots. you'd learn real fast that MONEY is a great bridge builder. you wonder why asians own all the conveience shops and indians the motels?they get along, they dont care if you speak pig-latin

I spent time in the Marine Corps. and driven tractor-trailer all over this country,I have a pretty good understanding of the "real" world outside this area.

I feel people coming to this country should learn english, it's common sense and would probably provide them with more oppurtunities..but, keep in mind, the United States has never declared any language to be the "official language" of this country

I think it's funny that people in countries around the world learn to speak English, but many people who end up immigrating to the US choose not to bother.

I agree with anyone who thinks that when you come to the US, you learn English. If you can't speak English, you're not job eligible.

When my grand parents moved to the US, German was spoken at home but English was spoken outside the home. They WANTED to be AMERICANS.

If there is a melting pot mentality, then melt into America, not create growing pockets of Mexico within America.

are you sure it's the method of communication (language) or the cultural differences that bother you? ask yourself, why am i uncomfortable with Indians (India), Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, etc. we all have the greatest common denominator.. we are ALL human beings on this planet. all due respect for that reason alone despite culture.
