Musicians Wanted to play on Studio Collab album (UPDATE)

Post by KeithReynolds »

I have some more work to finish for a couple bands, but after that, I would like to make an album with all sorts of musicians.
It would require a small commitment for the people to play on it, as the songs will be all original. No songs are written, because the people who are playing on the songs will write it. Maybe youre in a coverband and wrote an awesome song...well, nows your time to finish it and have it released on an album. Or if the song you wrote doesnt fit your original band's work. My idea for this is to have a huge collaboration. Kind of like the Roadrunner Allstars album. This one will be diverse too.
Just some guys making an awesome record together. I will record & produce it and will even get it pressed.
After i finish the 2 projects im on now, This will be my one and only project. I wont record any more bands until this album is made. (so lets not take tooooo long to make it) This will be my musical priority.
Bassists, Guitar Players, Drummers, Singers, Keyboardists, Triangle players, well really anything. Im sure anything could be fit in somewhere.

PM or reply here if youre interested

UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF THREAD. :D

I would be down to do some vocals (clean or heavy), and play some bass.

Also, I wanted to say that there will be an accompanying dvd that will showcase the recording and studio performances. Im sure it'll have a bunch of funny stuff too, as something funny always happens when musicians get together.
It will be a fully produced dvd, not a vhs tape with bootleg type footage.
Im going for total pro production on both the cd and dvd.

Musicians wanted for CD collaboration

Post by joltinjeff »

I will join my fellow co-lead vocalist "Brian's Girl" and would like to be a part of this. I have one song written (many years ago) that I never got around to so I would like someone to put it to music and record it for this cd.

I'd LOVE to be apart of this! Although, it sort of begs several questions... What genres are you going after mainly? Any idea of instrumental arrangement?

I'm definately interested in doing something like this as I have some lyrics jotted down with no music and wouldn't mind getting some accompaniment to them. I'm in!

The UPDATE:

Ok, well, the response to this has been amazing. Thanks for the thread replies and PMs!! This is gonna be in the local music history books for sure. OK, so we can coordinate stuff like whos playing and writing with who and that kind of stuff....i was thinking of having either a meeting somewhere, or doing a skype session online. with skype, you use a computer mic and can have a group chat and actually talk to eachother. everyone let me know which they would prefer.
This project is going to require alot of time for some people and only some time for others, but the end result is going to be legendary. I am sooooo excited to be working with all of you. Ill have a list up soon of who is involved and what they play.

Its up to the teams to decide what genre. This will not be a genre specific album. Rap or country prob wouldnt fit though.

I'd probably be up for a meeting sometime. The Skype thing and me don't do so well together. Thanks again for including me.

The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

ill fill in for the cowbell orchestra. theres probably going to be a need for more cowbell for a recording of this magnitude.

i may throw my name in for guitar or bass.
