Take a moment today to remember, and thanks to all military vets, active duty, reserves, firemen, police, EMT's, and all who serve to keep us safe. God Bless.
Dood...

Here, here. The feelings are are still there, the breathless shock, the anger, the questioning. And, why is Osama Bin Laden still alive?--->JMS

I must say it's a day I will never forget. No matter how much you want your mind to forget your heart won't let it. God bless the victims, their families, and the troops.

I was off that day, playing Everquest, & my mother in law called & told us to turn on the news & that a plane hit one of the towers. I was watching MSNBC & thought "Who the fuck is stupid enough to make a mistake like that?"...

Then the second plane hit. I just kept saying "This isn't right", over & over.

Didn't know anyone in the buildings, but my heart goes out to anyone that did.

Im just kinda curious here... Why is it, when a tragedy happens, the USA celebrates it every year. But when theres actually something GOOD that happens, no one cares and no one remembers, and its never celebrated.

What good has happened on a national level.
I don't think it's a day of celebration, it's a day of remembrance.

Happy 9/11!

i agree. i was a vol. fireman for 14 years, and worked for an ambulance service for more than that, and when that happened it really hit me hard. i'm not celebrating i'm remembering, and honoring those who have either fought for our country, served in the armed forces, served as firemen/emt/paramedic, or were victims of this horrible event in american history. god bless them ALL!!!!!!!!

Is he?

I have a feeling he died a few years ago, but we have no solid evidence of that. Without his corpse, we could have endless war.

Last November, Big Jim, another friend and I traveled to Ground Zero and went through the memorial museum. For me, it brought back all the awe and anger I felt that day. One part of the memorial is a room that features a wall of pictures and mementos of the victims, and books where you can sign and share your thoughts. As I read some of the mementos, I was awestruck at the outpouring of support from all over the globe.

In my news writing course at the campus, our textbook starts off Chapter One with 9/11 and what news reporters had to go through that day. I start my first lecture by relating my own experiences of that day; how I first learned about the breaking story, and how I then had to put my own emotions in check and go on the air at Q94 that afternoon; and both provide updated information about the terror attacks plus try to calm the listening audience who, like me, had been rattled and shocked by the day's events.

My parents' generation had Pearl Harbor as the event where they remembered exactly what they were doing when they first learned about it. My parents and older brother recall exactly what they were doing when President Kennedy was assassinated. For me and much of today's generation, 9/11 is that cataclysmic event.

A couple of my classmates at Penn State had parents who died from the tragic events of that day. We had a day where they told us of how it was; it still amazes me how they got the courage to tell their story - I was upset over it, but seeing how they felt and how hard it hit them made me even more upset. My heart went out to each of them ...

Well as of Yet, Nothing.. :?

But its still celebrating.. People remember when, that one guy died.. and thats a celebration.. ya know that one guy.. I think his name is "Hey Zeus" But some people call him "Jesus" He died (like 50000 times) people celebrate that with Candy n Eggs ( I still dont get that one)

But I would say that was tragic wasnt it?

(Don't get me wrong here im not wanting to start an argument or religious debate or anything like that)

The point im tryin to make here is... Why do people want to remember 4000+ people dieing, wasnt seeing it aired on tv (over and over and over) bad enough?

I mean really, Its been 8 Years... There's other things that need to be dealt with rather than remembering something like this.

I can see them being funny about it, but, that is not a day that I feel should have humor associated with.. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything ...

I was asleep during the time of the attacks. I'd walked 3 of my siblings up to their school earlier that day, and decided to get some more rest. I remember my uncle waking me up about noon, yelling "Go get the kids (3 of my 4 sibs), we're under attack!!!". My uncle's always been a little loony, so I just shrugged it off, got dressed and walked to the school, which was almost a mile away

When I got up there, something was obviously wrong, and I still didn't have any idea what was going on. I didn't find out until I finally brought them home, and watched the whole thing. The attacks seemed like something cut from a movie to me, and it didn't really sink in right. It did soon enough, but it was the whole "Did that really happen?" mentality, the shock and disbelief. Amazing how unrealistic this "real" world can be

9/11 is still a day I remember, and I hope the families have moved forward from that day. There is still no word I can use to describe the depth of wrong done on that day
