Bardel Pedals "Boutique Quality - Workingman Price"

Post by my7of9 »

I started Bardel Pedals 2007 and I soon realized I needed to expand my market instead of just selling locally in order to make a living. GuitarPCB.com has been a Huge Success but not without a lot of hard "Door to Door Sales" or Pub to Pub if you prefer.

http://www.GuitarPCB.com

Here is a sample of some of my pedals I sold in 2008 through 2009 which kept me going, while I decided my direction.

The Ultra Drive

The Stage 3 Booster is available in both Guitar and Bass versions! Absolutely Stunning! This is one of my best sellers.

To achieve those fuzzy Classic Rock tones ala Hendrix, Gilmour, Santana etc... The Foxy Face!

This Thread has been edited since starting Bardel Pedals.com and opening GuitarPCB.com, but I left the rest intact so people can see how it all got started in Altoona, Pa.

I have personally heard these pedals. Even though most of you know me as a drummer, I do have a good ear for tone (or voicing of an instrument). These pedals do the trick, as several people will attest to.

Just go try one / some, and find out for yourself.

And Barry is one heck of a nice guy too!

Good luck with your line-up Barry. It'll catch on fast I'm sure.

alright guitar and bass players ... if you havent tried out these pedals yet, do yourself a favor and get ahold of Barry. These pedals are great, i personally have the Stage 3 and the Love Drive pedals (soon to have a chorus pedal) ... and they are great.

I didn't think my fender tube amp could get a cleaner and louder sound, plugged in the stage 3 WOW. what a difference.

these pedals are high quality, hand built, and just plain awesome.

i highly recommend Barry for all your pedal needs! You won't be disappointed!

Pedals that make a difference...

Theses are not kits, not even close......Hand etched or strip boards personal detail to everything thats in it, inside and out.
And once you plug it in your ears will do the rest...
Call, PM, or e-mail Barry and ask for a demo with no commitments, find out for yourself.....

Without getting technical it allows your amp to see your guitar the way it was meant to as if there was a 1 foot cable between your amp and guitar dawning a brand new set of pickups and nothing else. Pure tone that you never even knew existed. Clean, full and powerful!
What it does NOT do like so many other boosters out there is introduce an unwanted and unnatural distortion or breakage.
If you have a solid state amp it will sound more like a Tube amp! If you have a Tube amp and breakup is desired by maxing the output Knob it will help you to achieve this but in a natural sounding way!
There are many way to build a booster and mine is of a design intended on keep intact the clarity and tone of the instrument and amp combo being used.
This pedal is designed to be used at the end of your pedal chain closest to your amp. Like I said not your average booster. What this does to your clean tone is amazing (are you hearing me Bass players!!) what it does for your Overdrive and Fuzz tones is equally amazing. It is like getting an all new and exiting tone out of your old pedals you may have thought were a little lack luster. If that does not convince you then all I can say is TRY ONE! :D

Thanks for asking!

Barry

PM me anytime and I will make arrangements for you to come over and check them out! :)

Also in regards to the Stage 3 Booster I might mention that if you are a real HEAVY style guitar player then just stack this baby into your current rig and if you thought your tone was crushing before then wait till you hear it with this!

Also if you are a Jazzy or bluesy player it will give you a beautiful rich tone like you never had before.

Southern Rock - Nails it!

I do not think it matters for the style of music it just complements your amp, guitar, pedals and playing style while retaining the natural tone of your rig!

Oh and Bass players you need one of these too!

But anyway don't just take my word for it just PM me anytime and I will set something up with you to check them out!

I have been talking to Conner Mercury. I would like to try one in my Guitar rig and see what the difference is. Would you be willing to make a house call. I have a bunch of stuff and would be easier for me instaed of dragging it all out. Let me know, I'm talking about the stage 3 pedal...Thanks Gary

No problem! Just PM me!

And maybe one of those certain boutique pedals you have been eyeing up is out of reach for you because of the ridiculous amounts of money they are charging for their pedals. I might be able to hook you up! Just let me know what it is you are looking for in a PM.

Barry will be soon be working on a 'Blender' pedal for me. The Blender will be an excellent way to use any effect that sucks the low end out of your signal because you will be able to blend your original bass signal with the effected signal with the use of a mix control. Also, I'm certain you won't be paying $250+ like some similar available products out there! Other 'Bass' pedals on the design block may be an Overdrive and a Octave.

As mentioned before, with Bardel pedals your getting Boutique products for a fraction of the price and with all the quality you expect. Barry hand checks all of the crucial components and discards any that don't meet his design specs. He showed a sample of maybe around 200 components that remained after he hand checked an order of 1000.

I'm working on getting some internet sound samples of the Stage 3 Bass Booster available but as always be weary of the resulting sound quality through your PC speakers.

Anyways, I looking forward to my journey back into the world of analog effects.

Cheers!

I just finished a much needed Strat Pickup overhaul plus 3 of my more popular guitar mods for Felix Apprentice!

First here is some pictures of the mess that I removed!
Image

One more for your viewing pleasure. Can you even believe the wiring job on this?? If you want to call it that? Not only was it wired badly (Not even desoldered but Cut, Stripped and Taped  ) it was also wired wrong... neither tone control worked at all.
Image

Okay now here is a pic of my finished job which included a complete rewiring, new pickups (GFS 64 Staggers) and 3 of my more popular mods including the BLEND Mod which she can now Blend the Neck pickup into any pickup configuration so now her tonal possibilities are practically endless!
Image

Well with a proper wiring job, some great pickups, properly adjusted pickup height and a little wiring MOJO I must say her Strat now sounds absolutely amazing but I will let her share all of that with you guys!

Just PM me if you need any of my services including guitar mods, pickup installs, pedal mods, custom pedal builds or one of my Bardel Pedals!

I own a Bardel Fuzz Pedal and an MXR Phase 90 that was modded by Barry. The fuzz pedal has an amazing sound that truely anyone would love. The Phase 90 sounds like the EVH version, except the Bardel version gives you a better deal. I highly recommend any guitarist to check out his pedals.

Rock on!

Barry brought a couple pedals up here to my shop a few weeks ago to give me a demostration. Wow!!! The Stage 3 Booster is an amazing product. I borrowed the Stage 3 Bass Booster to try out on my bass players rig at practice one time. It was awesome, it brought out so much clarity, it was like he was using a new amp.

I am an electronics engineer with a degree from Cal Tech, with a hi-end speaker company called Von Schweikert Audio (www.vonschweikert.com). Recently, during the buildup of a custom recording studio for my house band, I was in the market for custom pedals to achieve the David Gilmour sound. After discovering Barry and his custom pedals, my tone has gone from "average" to "smoking David Gilmour sound." I own several of his pedals and intend on buying every single one - they are a great value and sonically "blow away" the other pedal brands that cost 4x more. Try one of Barrys pedals and you'll find that your guitar and amp just went to a different level.

What a great endorsement for Barry.
Von Schweikert speakers are some of the very best made. If you've never heard a pair of them you are missing out on something magical.

i just had Barry do some work on a vintage Bad Stone for me. It was a glorified paperweight when I handed it over. I got it back yesterday and he brought it back to life. It sounds amazing. It didn't even sound that good when I bought 12 years ago.

While I was there he gave a tour of his pedals, so to speak, and I gotta say they sound GOOD! I plan on pulling some cash together and pick up a Stage 3 Bass Booster soon.

Look out, he's in the process of prototyping some new pedals. If only I had more money...
