Im not thinking of commiting suicide..Too much to live for ..But Curiosity has me by the tail.I came to work today to find out that a close co worker was found dead over his fathers grave last friday morning.Apparently he shot himself in the heart.I know this guy and i know he has some big caliber handguns...but wouldnt you die a slow death like this?It just seems really hardcore to me..........

Awesome post. I think a guillotine would be the quickest. That's if you happen to have on lying around. I think I read one time that if one is decapitated quickly that the head can live for 3-4 seconds. That means you would have the sensation of you head hitting the floor or landing in the basket. You could just blow yourself up, too.
According to the Hemlock Society, the most painless method is slow asphyxiation by helium inhalation. You can breathe fine and there's no smell, though it makes you sound weird when you talk. Eventually you'll pass out from oxygen deprivation and die.
If I were to shoot myself with a gun, it would be to the cerebral cortex with the largest caliber weapon I could find.

I always thought the old "car running in the garage" would do the trick nicely. There's also sleeping pills but you really have to take enough to be sure!
A large calibur gunshot to the brain would be quick. Check out bud dwyer on youtube. It's a fast death--suprisingly so! He hits the trigger then hits the ground.

I think I'd combine these two.
But hey, if you're gonna do it, please don't take out innocent folks with you. Don't run through your place of work, or your school, and kill everyone who was "mean" to you. That's pussified! Also, don't blow your brain matter all over the place where somebody that actually likes your stupid ass will have to clean it up. That ain't cool.
I think that suicide is the ultimate in selfish things to do. It also tears apart those left behind to sort through the subsequent mess. I've lost a few good friends to suicide. Life is too precious to go out like that. Music and art have the power to heal this. Sorry to hear about your coworker, Rickster.

You could check your self in to the HOSTEL and have a guy strap you down and eat your leg with a knife and fork. Its not the fastest but it would surely get the job done after about a week or so.
Not going into details as to why, but I happen to have a lot of expertise on this subject.
I'd say sleeping pills especially if they react badly to a medication you're already taking......just down a bottle and go to bed....the plus side for this is that the next morning when you're found you wont leave behind a horribly mutilated body and brain matter that needs to be cleaned up. Overdosing is probably the best...plus, when you lay down to sleep you can dress yourself in something that you want to be buried in and save funeral directors the trouble of having to redress your corpse and possibly -if said funeral director is a necrophiliac- do horrible things to your naked corpse while he's supposed to be dressing you for the funeral. Not necessarily quick, but definately painless and peaceful. This also works for most other poisons and the old CO2 car inhalation trick. Just remember that locks ae your friends...if someone finds you before your dead there's always a chance to save you...so remember, always leave a suicide note out somewhere easily located and lock the door behind you if there's a chance that anyone would find you before you finally bit the dust, so to speak.
Those with a flair for the dramatic might consider cutting your wrists. It will hurt a bit when you first cut them, but the pain wouldn't really be all that bad...kind of like a bad paper cut and then eventually, as you bled out you'd stop being able to feel much of anything and eventually drift off to death...wouldn't be totally quick, and not totally painless (but mostly) but it would still be pretty far up on the list of least painful ways to die for me at least but unfortunately without the cleanliness of the deaths above...but if that doesn't bother you then go for it....plus you can just do it in the bathroom because blood comes right off linoleum with some cleaner and minimal scrubbing.
Throwing yourself off a building would be last on the list because there's always a chance that you could survive and wind up a vegetable the rest of your life...in which case you'd be worse off than you already were and NOT be able to attempt suicide again.
As far as quick deaths go, shotgun to the head is always a good idea, as long as you do it correctly and, as above, make sure you don't end up as a vegetable.
lol...but if you're really interested in going about it that way, you could just marry Courtney Love and save yourself the trouble of having to plan it out yourself....lol....oops, did I just say that out loud???

HEY RICK!! FIRST OFF IM SORRY ABOUT YOUR FRIEND. I'VE HAD MANY FRIENDS COMMIT SUICIDE AND THATS JUST NOT THE WAY TO GO. I RECENTLY LOST MY MOTHER TO PANCRATIC CANCER AND KINDA IN MY MIND I KEPT TELLING MYSELF I WANTED TO DIE ALSO JUST SO I COULD BE WITH HER AGAIN.
